Welcome to Dogtoof Miniatures, a tiny sculpting studio dedicated to bringing the spirit of classic tabletop gaming back to life, one hand-sculpted miniature at a time.
Dogtoof Miniatures was born from the beloved hobby of my childhood; a jump back to the past, the thrill of Saturday afternoons in the local model shop, the wonder of building an army for the table, a warband for a skirmish, or just filling a cabinet with models that made you smile. Every model is designed for painters, collectors, and gamers who share that same fondness for the past.
This project started simply because I missed that feeling, the excitement of holding a new blister pack, the smell of metal and primer, the charm of miniatures that were a little rough around the edges but full of personality. I wanted to make models that belonged on the same shelf as those early classics: slightly quirky, full of life, and sculpted with love rather than polished to digital perfection.
Every miniature you’ll find here begins not in a computer, there are no 3D printers, no digital shortcuts, and no mass production; only a lump of putty, a handful of sculpting tools, and a head full of ideas inspired by the worlds we used to dream about in the pages of old rulebooks and magazines. It’s a one-person labour of love using the same traditional methods that gave rise to the golden age of fantasy and sci fi wargaming.
Each sculpt is shaped the old way — with patience, skill, and the quiet satisfaction that only comes from working by hand. Once the original is complete, it is sent to be carefully moulded and cast in metal, just like the miniatures that first captured our imaginations decades ago. The process is slow, sometimes unpredictable, and often messy — but that’s the beauty of it. What comes out of the mould is something with weight, character, and a bit of soul.
This small business will never compete with the big names, and that’s exactly the point. I’m not here to flood the market — just to keep a small flame burning for the art and tradition of hand-made metal miniatures.
So, thank you for stopping by and supporting independent creators. Each miniature you buy helps keep this old craft alive, one figure at a time. Pick up a file, a brush, or a pot of paint — and together, let’s keep the Oldhammer spirit alive for a new generation.
I hope these sculpts bring you as much joy as they’ve brought me to create.
